There are so many things I love about Bliss. I was drinking my Starbucks on the way to work this morning, and realized that I was so behind with Bliss. It's been a very busy month for me personally, and I have a lot to follow up on. My mind started to wander and I contemplated the things I love about this little trio with an often big sound. Musical bits aside...
Here is my "5 Things I Love About Bliss"
...drumroll please...
...shit we don't have a drummer...
...and no I'm not pregnant...
BOUGHT A HOUSE!... but it isn't in ForestHOOD. And it has been a very busy month for us between moving and renovations to the new place. Raise a glass and shed a tear, the Nolte's have moved Downtown. Now don't panic, it is a ten minute drive away. And I've been assured that I will always have honourary ForestHOOD membership. But the days of throwing on a hoodie and wandering down the street at 9PM in February are a thing of the past. There is, however, plenty of music still to come!
If you need a musical fix, Now and Then is playing at Pub Fiction in Ancaster this Friday, July 17, 2015. This is sure to be a good show, you don't want to miss it! Check out the event details here.
I hope you have all had a great few weeks and I promise to be less tardy next time.

Here is my "5 Things I Love About Bliss"
- We are like family. My two bandmates are like the older brothers I never had (wanted?). Brian and Jim make me laugh until my sides ache, and also tease me relentlessly when they deem it appropriate. About anything, in case you're wondering. My new tattoo. My parenting methods. My terrible flute playing attempts during practice. My new shoes. I digress...
- Family comes first. While we are like a family, it is always understood that we have to take care of our home lives and the gents are always so understanding when the kids make me late, or if Eric has something on the go. It is nice to work with like minded people, however eager we may be at times to play.
- We can practice anywhere. We travel fairly light, so it isn't too hard to bring your own gear to use. But in addition, the option is there for us to practice at any one of our three houses, because we all have access to a guitar and a set of keys.
- Okay, I can't help it one of the items has to be about the musical bits... Brian and Jim are pretty frickin' awesome at what they do. I love the sound that they can help create with just our little ensemble, and the fact that they'll try anything to see if it works. It allows me to be somewhat self indulgent in my song selection...
- All this musical talent crammed onto one street! Brian and Jim are next door neighbours, and it is 210 steps from my front door to Brian's. Impromptu practice? Okay! Let me walk down the street... Never mind the convenience of it, I always found it to be one of the coolest things about us. If I hadn't moved to ForestHOOD, who knows if Bliss would ever have come to be?
