It seemed appropriate that as we approached the end of 2019, we paused for just a moment to reflect. Some people measure time in days, weeks, months... I prefer to measure it by the number of shows that have passed. In this case, 76 gigs. Even when I put that down on paper, it seemed like an unbelievable number to me. I played 76 live shows last year. The vast majority of those were Bliss shows, but I did have the opportunity to sit in with a couple of wonderful local bands, Shake Street and IN2U, to assist them when they needed a singer. I was also honoured to participate in Wine, Women and Song 2019.
Pondering that number, I remember a time in my early days with Now and Then when I needed Jim to stagger the set lists so that I didn't have to sing two difficult songs too close together. We played a live show maybe once or twice a month in those days, and I split lead duties with two wonderful ladies. Even in the early days of Bliss, I had a few such requests. If Sarah then could see Sarah now... I hope she would be inspired!
Not sure what 2020 is going to bring, but we're looking forward to a record year!
Come along with us!
